About Me

I'm Shawn. I was diagnosed with HIV at age 11, infected through tainted blood products which were used to treat hemophilia, the genetic bleeding disorder I was born with. When I was diagnosed with HIV, I was given less than two years to live.

I survived.

Today, I am a writer (author of My Pet Virus), speaker (with Gwenn Barringer: shawnandgwenn.com) and musician (synthetic-division.com). I'm very happy and healthy and love my iced mochas... but focus on the first paragraph...

February 6, 2011 - I noticed that Gwenn Barringer of A Latte Style was having coffee the same day and time that I was, and I had to cheese out and get a picture. She was sooooo nice!
